Absolutely beautiful lava earrings from the Victorian (ca1880) era! These stunning earrings portray the shape of an ornate urn and each hang from 14kt rose gold surmounts and wires. The lava has a wonderful greenish grey hue and each is intricately hand carved to depict a traditional two handled urn with a grape and grape leaf motif along the front. The back of each earrings is also hand carved with simple pierced horizontal lines, completely the fantastic design perfectly. The neutral grey lava looks simply magnificent against the rose gold surmounts and the earrings look striking on. These gorgeous earrings would make a very special addition to any jewelry collection!
Measurements: The earrings hang approximately 1 3/4" long, are 5/8" at the widest point and have a depth of 3/8" at the thickest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the carved lava or to the gold setting and the wires are intact.
